Upcoming Changes to Mafia Wars!!!

With lot of new things happening in mafia wars, challenge mission's are regular features, giving rewards points ,skill points.

Zynga is now trying to revamped the game totally. With lot of issue that currently prevail, bugs and unnecessary things in the game. All these need to be changed or completely removed from the game.

Upcoming features of mafia wars that we all look for :

  • New York will be completely redesigned and uses a map view. It is almost a new city. They plan on rolling it out to everybody eventually (no timeline), but some/all new accounts have it. I have no idea how it will relate to older players, but it is worth noting that there are 4 levels of mastery, so it is possible that everyone will have to do each NY level one more time.

  • The status bar has been redesigned and likely will be rolled out shortly (the bar at the top, for new accounts with the new NY, they have the new status bar). A little different look and layout, it really doesn't change much but where things are located. However there are two notable additions, minigames and trading. There was a version the other night for a few minutes. Took a couple minutes to get a lay of the land, but I liked it a lot once I figured out where everything was. Logical link layout, and XP to level is added. There were 3 versions rolled out briefly. The developers have asked for feedback and shown the 3 designs, so there should be some player feedback incorporated.

  • Minigames are coming. No idea of numbers or how they will work, but there is a link in the new top bar for minigames. The only game in there right now is the daily chance, but the developers have confirmed that Slots are going to be added next. No timeframe for release.

  • The bonus received for top wheelman and mastermind has been reduced to 10% each. Probably won't affect fighters much, but it'll sting our looters. The change affect the ratios for all jobs, "Settle a Beef" is no longer the top XP/E ratio, that honor now goes to the final job in Bkk with lvl 4 mastery (aside from the Poker game on Enforcer, that still has the best ratio, but you need chips and cards, a good strategy for looters is to spend your e pack levels on the chips and cards jobs).

  • The new city Las Vegas is beginning to appear to be imminent, with consumable things already being available as bonuses and a lot of mentions of Vegas by the developers. Items that are known or have mentioned in Vegas, the business is a single Casino with customization of various items, possibly a mini Hotel City type thing. No word on money or the economy. Is has been breifly mentioned that some jobs will/may have a stamina component in addition to energy. Vegas may use the map based interface of the new NY redesign and may bring back boss fights.

  • Trading is being integrated into the game. Without knowing anything about the exact form, the developers have said that they want to integrate it, and they have been seeking information about it. The information probing they did about fighting preceeded all of the fighting changes by a couple of weeks. Many of the fighting changes (fight specific loot, only loading live people on the fight list, a means to determine if someone on the fight list is iced) were player suggested changes. The developers have confirmed secure trading, an differentiated trading from gifting. It is believed they are also working in an in-game p2p trading place. In the new status bar, the link to the gifting interface (the real tedious one) has been renamed trading, no longer being called gifting. They have said that they are considering limits, but thus far have not confirmed that there will be limits or how big. Many player comments are strongly against limits. Several clan members have chimed in (Zynga seems to listen to clan players more than the general population, I believe that we are their ideal player model), saying that gifting/trading hundreds of items within the clan is very normal.

  • The profile and inventory pages are being completely revamped. It is said to integrate well with the new top bar. No information was given about release dates. They asked for suggestions a few weeks/months ago, and there was a pretty solid agreement among players about separation by type and sorting of inventory, and a combat calculator thing like Blofelds. If you see user customizable icons, replacing the current 'top items" so you could put any loot in there you want (thus also displayed when fighting along with a collector page that shows all loot like a coin book). The group of dev's working on this seems to be their art group, who is one of their faster groups (unlike their bug fixers, who are worthless)

  • The new top mafia / fight club. There are no new details, but the change in the current top mafia bonuses could be either a sign that its dead, or that it is imminent.

The developers have confirmed that there will also be a Chop Shop / Weapons Depot type business for both Armor and Animals. Feedback on building them has generally been negative (though feed back on the business itself is positive), they have indicated that they are exploring different options for building them. They've given no time-line at all, other than confirming the businesses.
